Audience
Participation is restricted to early career elementary, middle, and secondary assistant principals and highly recommended for first-year assistant principals.
Session Description
The role of the assistant principalship is very complex. The daily demands of the job can feel challenging, exhausting, and, at times, difficult to balance the many priorities of the assistant principal’s daily work. This engaging session will provide participants with strategies for identifying and balancing the three-fold nature of the assistant principalship: 1) instructional leadership, 2) operational management, and 3) organizational development. You will gain an understanding of how you currently prioritize and use time as an assistant principal as well as knowledge on how to become more effective at utilizing and prioritizing time. In addition, participants will obtain a clear understanding of balancing and organizing work through the four components of work organization.

Requirements for Contact Hours
- You will only receive credit for the number of contact hours in which you participate.
- In order to earn your Silver CEEL certificate, you are required to complete each full-day workshop in the Silver strand series in its entirety.
- If you only attend a portion of the day and want to receive the Silver CEEL certificate, you will be required to re-register, pay, and attend the entire session when scheduled again.
