Audience
Participation is restricted to elementary, middle, and secondary aspiring principals with 2+ years of experience.
Session Description
Everyone is aware of the increasing difficulty in recruiting and retaining effective teachers and other staff. In addition to recruiting difficulties, ensuring you have hired the best candidate is crucial. A recent survey by CareerBuilder found that 69 percent of organizations have been adversely affected by a bad hire in the past year. The consequences include any or all of the following: lost productivity, time required to hire and train another person, drag on morale throughout the department or organization, diminished results, and legal issues. This session will provide information on current teacher recruitment strategies as well as how to use behavioral interviewing as a technique for ensuring you know how to hire the right person for the job.

- Cancellations received after February 26, 2025, will not be refunded.
Requirements for Contact Hours
- You will only receive credit for the number of contact hours in which you participate.
- In order to earn your Silver certificate, you are required to complete each full-day workshop in the Silver Strand series in its entirety.
- If you only attend a portion of the day and want to receive the Silver certificate, you will be required to re-register, pay, and attend the entire session when scheduled the following year.
