ForwardAspiring Leaders Strand - 2018
The Center for Executive Education Leadership (CEEL) Aspiring Leaders program offerings have been designed to help you in your professional and personal growth. Participants may register for any two of the three sessions offered at a special price or may register for each individual session.
Descriptions for each session are listed below:
How Can I Know if School Leadership is Right for Me?
October 23, 2018
Participants will examine the role of a school leader and will analyze their skill set to fill such a role. Participants will identify the challenges that concern them most and engage in dialogue, activities, role plays and case studies to address their concerns. Attend this session to assess your readiness to take on the important role of school leader.
Handling Difficult Conversations
November 14, 2018
In school leadership the challenge is always to communicate well and to remain focused on the needs of the students we serve. It will not be uncommon to encounter faculty or staff members, parents, community members or students who do not share your point of view for the "best solution." Attend this session to learn how to handle difficult conversations. Skill areas will be identified and tools will be shared to help participants learn ways to conduct themselves in high-pressure settings. Participants will engage in activities, case studies, assessment of their level of assertiveness, and discussion with other aspiring leaders.
Preparing for the Role of School Leadership
February 27, 2019
Participants will engage in roundtable learning sessions on key topics like student discipline, special education, supervising adults, and managing school operations, conducted by school leaders currently serving in these roles. In the afternoon session, participants will continue to self-analyze and develop an action plan for moving into a leadership role, if at the end of the analysis, school leadership is a pathway they wish to pursue.
Pre-registration and payment are required to attend all CEEL workshops. No walk-ins will be accepted.

- SCASA Members - $300 for any two sessions (Must be logged in to see this price)
- Non SCASA Members - $515
- After completing your payment, you will receive a confirmation email for the strand as well as the individual sessions within the strand you are registered for.

- Even if you are paying by check, please log in and update your profile.
- SCASA does not except purchase orders.
Fellowships Available
- Fellowships are available for those who both register for the series and attend each session in the series in its entirety.
- 50% for aspiring leaders and assistant principals (ALL school districts)
- 50% for district level leaders and principals (Plaintiff school districts only)
- Reimbursements will be submitted to school districts by May 2, 2019.
Cancellation Policy
- Because of this special rate for two sessions, cancellations must be made by October 9, 2018.
- Cancellations are subject to a $60 cancellation fee.
- Cancellations must be submitted in writing to april@scasa.org by October 9, 2018.
- Cancellations received after October 9, 2018 will not be refunded.
Requirements for Contact Hours
- You will only receive credit for the number of contact hours in which you participate.
- In order to earn your Silver CEEL certificate, you are required to complete any two full-day workshops in the Silver strand series in its entirety.
- If you only attend a portion of the day and want to receive the Silver CEEL certificate, you will be required to re-register, pay, and attend the entire session when scheduled again.
