Participation is restricted to teacher leaders and instructional coaches at the school level.

Pre-registration and payment are required to attend all CEEL workshops. No walk-ins will be accepted.

The Center for Executive Education Leadership (CEEL) Aspiring Leaders program offerings have been designed to help you in your professional and personal growth. Participants may register for two of three sessions offered at a special price or may register for each individual session.

Descriptions for each session are listed below:

How Can I Know if School Leadership is Right for Me?

July 16, 2019

Participants will examine the role of a school leader and will analyze their skill set to fill such a role. Participants will identify the challenges that concern them most and engage in dialogue, activities, role plays and case studies to address their concerns. Attend this session to assess your readiness to take on the important role of school leader.

Handling Difficult Conversations

July 24, 2019

In school leadership, the challenge is always to communicate well and to remain focused on the needs of the students we serve. It will not be uncommon to encounter faculty or staff members, parents, community members or students who do not share your point of view for the "best solution." Attend this session to learn how to handle difficult conversations. Skill areas will be identified and tools will be shared to help participants learn ways to conduct themselves in high-pressure settings. Participants will engage in activities, case studies, assessment of their level of assertiveness, and discussion with other aspiring leaders.

Preparing for the Role of School Leader

July 31, 2019

Participants will engage in roundtable learning sessions on key topics like student discipline, special education, supervising adults, and managing school operations, conducted by a seasoned professional who formally served in school leadership. In the afternoon session, participants will continue to self-analyze and develop an action plan for moving into a leadership role, if at the end of the analysis, school leadership is a pathway they wish to pursue.

Fellowships Available

  • Fellowships are available for those who both register for the series and attend each session in the series in its entirety.
  • Reimbursements will be submitted to school districts by May 7, 2020.
  • In the event the reimbursement should be made payable to the participant, SCASA will require that an authorization form be completed and signed by an official in the district office accounting department.

Cancellation Policy

  • Because of the special rate for three sessions, cancellations must be made by June 18, 2019 .
  • Cancellations are subject to a $60 cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations must be submitted in writing to april@scasa.org by June 18, 2019.
  • Cancellations received after June 18, 2019, will not be refunded.

Requirements for Contact Hours

  • You will only receive credit for the number of contact hours in which you participate.
  • In order to earn your Silver CEEL certificate, you are required to complete any two full-day workshops in the Silver strand series in its entirety.
  • If you only attend a portion of the day and want to receive the Silver CEEL certificate, you will be required to re-register, pay, and attend the entire session when scheduled again.
