The Center for Executive Education Leadership (CEEL) Principals' Series - Gold Strand consists of three sessions that have been designed to help you in your professional and personal growth. Participants may register for all three sessions at a special price or may register for each individual session.

Descriptions for each session are listed below:

Having the Courage to Lead

October 16, 2019

The pressure to achieve is squarely on the job of the principal. Principals are entrusted with great responsibilities in the lives of staff and students. Every decision made, regardless of whether it creates tremendous improvements, can cause discontent among stakeholders. Every day can feel like a tightrope walk between results and feelings. This session will offer straightforward guidance for leading courageously in order to drive academic and personal performance.

Productive Conflict

December 3, 2019

In this session participants will be provided with a learning experiences that increases self-awareness around conflict behaviors and helps them effectively respond to uncomfortable and unavoiding challenges of workplace conflict.  Rather than focus on a step-by-step process for conflict resolution, it offers personalized techniques to curb destructive behaviors so that conflict can become more productive, ultimately improving workplace relationships and results.

Leading When Overwhelmed and Pressured

February 4, 2020

Principals encounter many stressors during the day – due dates, meetings, disagreements, difficult situations, and a never-ending flow of assignments. As you try to balance all these situations while working 50 hours or more a week, emotional resolve may start to weaken. When this happens, you begin to lose your patience, find your job to be less meaningful, and may even develop health issues.  This session is designed to give participants the tools they need to identify workplace stressors, end self-defeating talk, build communicative structures, and deal more calmly with change.
