The Work of Leaders: What Does the Research Say?

October 20, 2021

The work that leaders do—that really matters—is comprised of three primary areas of action: crafting a vision, building alignment, and championing execution. This session takes each area and provides information on the research-based tangible behaviors and best practices required to truly lead and effectively influence others to achieve significant goals.

It Worked for Me in Life and Leadership (Book Study)

March 17, 2022

In book study format, participants will discover and discuss in small teams the principles that shaped the life and career of one of America’s most admired public figures, General Colin Powell, USA (Ret.).  At its heart, the study will reveal Powell’s 13 Rules, notes he gathered over the years that now form the basis of his leadership presentations. His short but sweet rules, including “Get mad, then get over it” and “Share credit”, are illustrated by revealing personal stories that introduce and expand upon what he believes are the most important principles: conviction, hard work, and respect for others.

A few weeks prior to the session, you will be receiving the book It Worked for Me in Life and Leadership, by Colin Powell, to prepare for your participation.

Start with Why (Book Study)

March 2, 2022 - Cancelled

In book study format, participants will discover and discuss success in small teams.  The author, Simon Sinek, focuses simply on Why.   Why do some people reach success while others do not? Why do some groups manage to team-up and endure challenges, thus succeeding, while others fail to do so? What is it that makes some people different from others when it comes to achieving success? Sinek uses many real life examples to show how different people and organizations have managed to succeed. In using these examples, Sinek shows readers that if others can succeed, so can we.

A few weeks prior to the session, you will be receiving the book Start with Why, by Simon Sinek, to prepare for your participation.
