Descriptions for each session are listed below:
Leading People Through Change
September 10, 2026
This session is designed to improve the senior leader’s effectiveness in both change management and change leadership. Unfortunately, many employees suffer when leaders fail to understand the stages employees go through during a change. The simple truth is that understanding these stages leads to faster and more effective change efforts. Focusing on communication, collaboration, and commitment helps to ensure that your senior leadership team, middle-level leaders, and the wider district organization are fully aligned with your change efforts, thereby yielding the results that matter.
A few weeks prior to the session, you will be receiving the book "insert book here" to prepare for your participation.
Start with Why
October 22, 2026
In book-study format, participants will discover and discuss success in small teams. The author, Simon Sinek, focuses simply on "why." Why do some people reach success while others do not? Why do some groups manage to team-up and endure challenges, thus succeeding, while others fail to do so? What is it that makes some people different from others when it comes to achieving success? Sinek uses many real-life examples to show how different people and organizations have managed to succeed. In using these examples, Sinek shows readers that if others can succeed, so can we.
A few weeks prior to the session, you will be receiving the book Start With Why by Simon Sinek to prepare for your participation.
It Worked for Me
November 17, 2026
In book study format, participants will discover and discuss in small teams the principles that shaped the life and career of one of America’s most admired public figures, General Colin Powell, USA (Ret.). At its heart the study will reveal Powell’s 13 Rules, notes he gathered over the years that ultimately formed the basis of his leadership presentations. His short but sweet rules, including “Get mad, then get over it” and “Share credit,” are illustrated by revealing personal stories that introduce and expand upon what he believed were the most important principles: conviction, hard work, and respect for others.
A few weeks prior to the session, you will be receiving the book "insert book here" to prepare for your participation.
