The Center for Executive Education Leadership (CEEL) Superintendents' Strand consists of three sessions that have been designed to support you in your professional and personal growth. Participants may register for all three sessions at a special price or may register for each individual session.

Leading People Through Change

September 10, 2026

This session is designed to improve the senior leader’s effectiveness in both change management and change leadership. Unfortunately, many employees suffer when leaders fail to understand the stages employees go through during a change. The simple truth is that understanding these stages leads to faster and more effective change efforts. Focusing on communication, collaboration, and commitment helps to ensure that your senior leadership team, middle-level leaders, and the wider district organization are fully aligned with your change efforts, thereby yielding the results that matter.

Start with Why 

October 22, 2026

In this workshop participants will gain insight into how individuals and organizations achieve success by focusing on Why rather than What.  That is, influential leaders and organizations achieve lasting success by focusing on their core purpose—their "Why"—rather than just what they do.  Participants will learn that the Golden Circle framework reveals that communicating from the inside out (Why -> How -> What) inspires action and loyalty, rather than relying on manipulation or coercion to gain followers and buy-in.  Also, knowing your "why" prevents burnout, as seen in the story of the stonemasons where the one focused on building a "cathedral" rather than just laying bricks was inspired. This workshop will fully engage participants in focusing on Why through activities, experienced leader examples, and small group discussion.

A few weeks prior to the session, you will be receiving the book Start With Why by Simon Sinek to prepare for your participation.

It Worked for Me

November 17, 2026

Participants will discover the principles on leadership, integrity, and people-focused management that shaped the life and career of one of America’s most admired public figures, General Colin Powell, USA (Ret.).  The workshop will reveal Powell’s 13 Rules, notes he gathered over the years that ultimately formed the basis of his leadership presentations.  Powell emphasizes trusting teams, fostering a positive culture, and making decisions with kindness and empathy.  In a small group format, participants will engage in activities and discussions on how the 13 Rules may be applied within their own leadership experiences. 

A few weeks prior to the session, you will be receiving the book It Worked for Me in Life and Leadership, by Colin Powell, to prepare for your participation.

• After completing your payment, you will receive a confirmation email for the strand as well as the individual sessions within the strand you are registered for.

Cancellation Policy

• Because of the special rate provided for registration in all three sessions, cancellations must be made by August 13, 2026.
• Cancellations are subject to a $140 fee.
• Cancellations must be submitted in writing to [email protected] by August 13, 2026.
• Cancellations received after August 13, 2026, will not be refunded.
